Benefits for Investigators- A whistle stop tour of benefits for counter fraud officers. Your fraud officers may be experts in their field but will very often admit that their knowledge of benefits can be a little ’sketchy’, especially if you have recruited officers who have not come from a benefits background. Very often time consuming preliminary or even full investigations are undertaken when there is no effect on benefit entitlement and, in accordance with ‘R. v Passmore,’ there is no prospect of administering a sanction.
This course is designed to give counter fraud officers an understanding of benefits, enable to identify when changes in circumstances will not affect their investigations, refresh their existing knowledge and to make them aware of recent changes. We are not trying to make assessors out of your fraud team but this course will give them the necessary tools to increase their efficiency and effectiveness.
