In addition to conflict within the workplace, very often staff can face conflicts with customers, sometimes on a regular basis. Even a relatively innocuous function such as sending monthly Council Tax bill reminders can generate a disproportionately negative response from the recipient. Staff having to field regular abusive telephone calls can feel unappreciated, disrespected and ultimately extremely ‘stressed.’
Again, it is sometimes difficult for managers to resolve the problems that individuals face as the ‘lines of communication’ do not allow a genuinely open discussion of the issues. Staff can feel that they will be vulnerable if they admit that the conflict is affecting them, which in itself can add to the problem. The counsellor is free from any of these shackles and is therefore more able to identify both the problem and the ways that it can be mitigated or possibly resolved. Sometimes the simple expedient of putting the service into place can augment the confidence and moral of staff.
Organisations are duty and morally bound to consider the well being of their staff and any failure to do so could result in expensive litigation and compensation at a later date. An externally provided counseling facility is very often the most effective remedy.
We can also offer confidential one to one counselling sessions conducted by qualified counselors. Our counselors offer psychodynamic therapy to individuals suffering from anxiety, depression and stress. Appointments can be made in conjunction with the mediation sessions or as standalone appointments, depending on the needs of the client. Therapy rooms are also available upon request, at an additional charge.
We can offer these services on an occasion by occasion basis and charge accordingly or you could contract for Authorita to provide all your counselling requirements on a annual basis for a fixed fee.
